Where did the project idea come from?
It comes from the collaborative work between Balidea Traffic management experts, who have well detected the lack of smart solutions to help Urban Mobility Managers to analyse mobility behaviours and to support their decisions from an evidence-based approach.
Why did you select that specific target country?
Because we have identified great concerns about urban mobility, especially traffic-based organizations that will be overjoyed to receive new solutions which will allow them to get a better, more efficient and affordable management system. Moreover, we firmly believe Panama can be the first step of our expansion strategy for arriving at bigger countries with extremely big cities such as Sao Paulo (22 Millions), Mexico DF (21,7M), Buenos Aires (15,1M), Rio de Janeiro (13,4M), Lima (10,4M), Bogotá (9,2M) or Santiago de Chile (7,4M).
Who are your partners in the target country?
IAD is a SME company that holds more than 6 years working in projects related to construction, electrical engineering, automation and installations, touching sectors such as photovoltaic and recently Smart Cities.
IAD aims to grow and expand commercially, both at national and international scale.
Its short-term strategy relies on strongly bet for Smart City segment as a key axis of development, since it has been detected the need for the adaptation of its general structure to carry out different projects in this area linked to a more automatic and modernized product, making it more technical and efficient, achieving great level of differentiation over competitors.
This fact, joined to its role as international technology and equipment distributor, has awakened a great expectative in the establishment of a solid collaboration with Balidea. Therefore, participating on VAP activities will constitute a further step of boosting their know-how regarding this addressed market segment. They will create notoriety and branding to accomplish international projects, that is hoped to translate into getting a broader market rate.
What is your long term vision for your company working in your chosen partner country?
In the long term we see IAD Proyectos as a key specialized collaborator, acting both as a sales representative as a technical support service provider for other commercial partners.
What impact do you believe INNOWWIDE will have on your company?
We hope INNOWWIDE will mean the beginning of the internationalization of the solution in LATAM.
Can you offer any advice or guidance to others looking to apply for INNOWWIDE grants?
We think it is a great opportunity to assess and validate disruptive close to market solutions in the environments.
