Elmibit is a Digital Agriculture Solutions company – we help farming organizations which are growing permanent crops to optimize all stages of work – from decision making through execution to reporting of the activities done.
The company consists of engineers, agricultural experts and commercialization experts, and one of our important focus areas is optimization of irrigation management.

Where did the project idea come from?

For the last few years, we are working in tight collaboration with a US-based partner; company Vinduino, on irrigation solutions for vineyards. In the process, we built some software features for irrigation optimization, as well as irrigation control capabilities, which have a major potential also outside of vineyard and permanent crops irrigation. This is why it was natural for us to start analysing other market segments where our technology could be applied.

Why did you select that specific target country?

Because of a good collaboration both in development and commercialization area with a partner company in the US, which is developing a complementary hardware? Moreover, as a mature market, US has a comparatively high demand for the products we are envisioning and offering, as well as we believe to have an solution with several characteristics very valuable for the US market – so it was pretty natural.

Who are your partners in the target country?

Vinduino LLC – we work with them on technical development of holistic irrigation management solutions, as well as on commercialization which we are tackling jointly in the US.

What is your long term vision for your company working in your chosen partner country?

Our vision is to become one of the important market actors in some of the niche segments where the benefits of our solutions outperform competition.

What impact do you believe INNOWWIDE will have on your company?

We believe that INNOWWIDE will be instrumental in strenghtening our collaboration and boosting further development and commercialization activity in the US for us. By working on assesment of market expansion, and by simultaneously laying groundwork for future development of our products on the US market, we believe that INNOWWIDE will impact not only our short-term focused activity in the US towards the goals in the next year, but will also positively impact on our long-term performance on the target market.

Can you offer any advice or guidance to others looking to apply for INNOWWIDE grants?

We believe that INNOWWIDE is a perfect opportunity for companies that may have some collaboration n the target market going on, which is based on specific requirements, and would like to ore systemmatically study, expand, and address the opportunities on the target market. If a company is in such position, and at the same time has a solid vision of what it wants to achieve in the target market, there is a solid foundation in place to prepare a good application.
